From humble beginnings out of a cottage kitchen located in the pristine environment of the Atherton tablelands in Far North Queensland, Kuranda health bars began selling into the local farmers markets. The original artisan bars were packaged and presented in “glad wrap” and customers knew exactly what they were buying. The popularity of the bars quickly spread and although available since the early 1990’s distribution was limited to the local community.

Maria Peronace whilst on holiday in Cairns in 2005 came across the local Kuranda market and tried one of the Kuranda health bars falling in love with the product. So much so that she acquired Kuranda Fine Foods and the Aussie Snax brands. Under the new company name of Aussie Health Snax Pty Ltd in 2006, Maria continued making “home-made” bars maintaining the integrity that had been so popular. Maria being gluten intolerant recognised the need of the many Ceoliac sufferers in the larger community quickly went about marketing the products into the broader market.

Having a keen interest in health and nutrition as well as experience in sales and marketing Maria wanted to share the wholesome natural goodness of the products with everyone.

In 2006 the Kuranda bars where launched at the Sydney Gluten Free Expo and this was quickly followed by launches in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

Relocation in 2007 to new larger premises at St Marys, New South Wales was necessary to accommodate increased demand for our “yummy” bars.  This increased capacity now allows Aussie Health Snax to expand our product range offering as well as distribution into wider markets. In 2008 exports include Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Aussie Health Snax employs a team of proud and dedicated locals who share the same commitment to the highest standards of quality. They mix, roll, decorate and cut by hand all our bars to maintain the integrity of all the raw materials, just like they always have been truly “hand-made”.
